Growing up, my mom’s favorite snacks were my favorite snacks. I’m such a mama’s girl! Sometimes, no matter what your age, you just need your mom. Whenever I’m feeling homesick, I’ll make her favorite foods or enjoy her favorite snacks. One of her favorite chocolates is Almond Joy therefore it became mine.
This simplified Homemade Almond Joy tastes just like it except using minimal ingredients. Not only do they emulate all the flavors of a real Almond Joy but they’re so easy to make! Plus, just 7 ingredients and no fancy equipment needed.

Homemade Almond Joy Bars (7 Ingredients!)
- Prep Time: 20 minutes
- Total Time: 40 minutes
Description
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut, shredded
- 1 scoop sfh coconut fuel protein
- pinch of salt
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 20–30 whole almonds (3–4 per “bar”)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 10 oz bag dark chocolate chips (melted)
Instructions
- Add the coconut, protein powder, salt, and maple syrup to a medium bowl. Mix well, then slowly mix in coconut oil.
- Press into a narrow silicone mold or lined narrow dish. Then, firmly press almonds into the coconut mixture
- Freeze for 20-25 minutes, or until firm and solid
- Cut the frozen block into individual bars then place back in the freezer while you melt the chocolate.
- Melt your chocolate using either a double boiler or the microwave.
- Remove the coconut bars from the freezer, and moving quickly place one bar into the bowl of melted chocolate–make sure it has a wide base. Use two forks to “flip” the bar, until it is coated in chocolate on all sides. Repeat with the remaining bars.
- Place the bars in the fridge for 5-10 minutes, to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Serve and enjoy! Bars are best stored in the fridge and will last there for up to 10 days.
